Usability Testing

I tested the game on seven people. Their identity will remain hidden. During the testing process i asked them to simply play the game. In my opinion there is simply no other way of finding problems with a game than just asking people to test it.

After finishing to play it i asked them to give the game a mark between 1 to 5 most of them were 4 and there were also two 5.

I also asked them what they would change/ add to the game. And i found some missing features/ quality of life sort of fixes.

In my opinion when you test for usability there is no particular task that you can ask someone to do, the best course of action would be to allow them to play and let them discover or better said show you the problems or bugs that you may never knew existed, and that is exactly what i did.

●Too Bright- Fixed - lowered the brightness

●Hard to press 1,2,3 buttons for changing between the tools - Fixed - now you use the scroll wheel to change tools

●No visible interaction between player and the “disasters” - Fixed - added sparks when welding or breaking things also added degradable debris.

●“I don’t know what to do!” - Fixed - added one time tutorials when you first interact with debris / hull cracks.

I Also asked the test subject whether or not they got any sickens from the vr and only one of them said that they got a bit sick but they also added that they usually get sick from vr.

Below you can find the usability tests legal agreements. Please note that the signatures were covered to protect the identity of the subjects.
